Creepy Carrots
Students at Tate Woods used ipads in the art room to create creepy carrots art for their invitations to the family reading night. They used the free app Hello Crayon which is very easy to use and all had great success!
When students finished their ipad art, they made more carrot art with markers and crayons.

First Grade Sunflowers
First graders learned a little bit about Vincent Van Gogh minus the ear information although some of them already knew about that unfortunate incident. They looked at his painting of sunflowers and created the most colorful and beautiful art of their own.
They started by drawing random circles on white paper. They used warm colors to paint the petals of the flower and used a small sponge attached to a clothes pin for the brown centers.
The background was painted in cool colors either with a brush or another small sponge.
Beautiful!
