Winter Landscape
My littlest students learned about landscapes, painting, big and small and coloring.
Pre-k and early childhood students began with simple shapes to draw a house ...
...then painted white snow.
Next they used 3 dots to paint a big triangle pine tree in the foreground.
Then they used 3 dots to paint a smaller triangle pine tree on the horizon line.
They finished with a snowy background.
A beautiful frosty landscape created by 3 to 5 year old artists.

Picasso Inspired Collages
Second graders looked at the collage work of Pablo Picasso and used a guitar or other stringed instrument of their choice as a focal point for their collage.
They started by tearing or cutting xerox copies of music into shapes to make a stencil, added chalk pastel on top and rubbed the chalk with a tissue to create a soft, colorful background.
Next they glued their stencils in a random pattern and added musical notes with a sharpie.
They looked at a guitar to see all of the parts they needed to cut out of paper...
... and it all came together in a lively, colorful and musical collage.
