Bad Kitty

Tate Woods students met Bad Kitty on the first day of school and learned how to draw him in the art room. They listened to a book at the end of art class and learned how Bad Kitty got to be bad and how he's not so bad after all.

Welcome to a New School Year

I've been busy getting the art room ready for a new school year. The tables are clean and labeled in color wheel order - ROY G. BV. The supply boxes are filled with fresh supplies and art lessons are planned. It's always exciting to get back to making art with Tate Woods students and I look forward to tables that aren't clean but filled with art making by kids. To supplies that are well used and to see the art room and school come alive with creativity.

ART From Ally

As an art teacher I get many gifts from students at the end of the year from candles to chocolate to gift cards and I appreciate all of them. This year one of my delightful second grade students created this framed zentangled ART. From one artist to another - thank you Ally. Keep making art all summer - I know you will!

Windy Hat Snowmen

First graders drew a scarf to begin their windy hat snowman. Then they added white paint, a flying away hat, buttons and a swirl of glitter.

It's windy out there!
