Sea Turtles

First graders used a cool palette to create a beautiful ocean background.

White paint added movement and interest...

and they used a scraper to create a pattern.

Lot's of movement.

They used many shades of green to cut out sea turtles.
Check back later this week to see how they came together.

Clay Hearts

First graders used air dry clay to create hearts. They learned how to make a flat slab for cutting the heart, how to punch holes for hanging, how to roll coils, adhere them to the heart and how to use tools to add texture and interest. Check back tomorrow to see the sparkly results!

Under Water World

Second graders used watery glue and colored tissue to create beautiful blue water.

They used liquid watercolor to finish the background and sprinkled table salt on the paint which makes the paint crackle and creates an interesting texture.

After the background dried, they used Model Magic clay to create a colorful under water world.
They mixed the colored clay together to create their own colors...

...and created creative creatures.
